Singaporean Households to Receive Utility and Housing Rebates
In an effort to alleviate financial burdens, over 950,000 households in Singapore living in Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats will benefit from government rebates next month. This initiative is aimed at offsetting the costs associated with utilities and maintaining housing estates.
Details of the Rebates
The rebates include U-Save assistance and service and conservancy charges (S&CC), forming part of the government’s augmented Assurance Package, alongside the permanent Goods and Services Tax (GST) Voucher program. These measures are designed to assist residents in managing the pressures of rising living costs.
According to the Ministry of Finance, qualifying households will receive U-Save rebates that could reach up to S$190 (approximately US$148), depending on the specific type of HDB flat they occupy. These rebates are scheduled to be disbursed in January 2026.
Additionally, households will be granted up to half a month’s worth of S&CC rebates, again determined by the type of their HDB unit.
