Arriving early to claim a prime spot by the famed Marina Bay Sands waterfront, Mr. Chua embraced the festive spirit with his relatives, ensuring they made the most of the evening together.

By 6 PM, Mr. Chua had laid out a cozy picnic mat for his group of around ten, which included a couple, a child, a domestic helper, and even the family dog. With some relatives still exploring the nearby shopping malls, the atmosphere was alive with anticipation.

While attending the countdown celebrations isn’t an annual ritual for the Chua family, Mr. Chua expressed that this occasion presented a wonderful chance for everyone to reconnect. “It’s a good opportunity for the extended family to spend time together,” he remarked.
